Harry potter and The Cursed Child
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
How do I feel about the Cursed Child. I was excited the temptation of reading another NEW Harry Potter book was unbearable , but did it deliver that is the question. knowing that this was not written by J.K. Rowling's but rather she had a hand in the book its self was enough for me to buy it. So, I am here to inform you of my thoughts on this magical world.
I loved it, I was taken back to my childhood of reading way past my bed time. I was in the world and found my self glued to each page all over again. Harry is the father of Albus whom is in the sytherin house feeling like a failure to his family starts to pull away adapting a friendship with the Malfoy's child. the set up of this book is amazing. I couldn't stop my boiling blood when I read about professor Umbrigde but quickly moved along. I am the biggest harry potter fan around and recommend the book to those young and old. it will be a classical just like the other seven books one day!
I am excited to learn that there will be three novella's published on line as e-books by Rowling, in November. I will be reading those and posting about this as well!
Of mice and men
Of Mice and Men
I enjoyed this small read. Steinbeck did a great job of keeping you wondering through out the book where the plot was going to have a turning point, and then boom he shocks you. I liked reading the was Gorge looked out for his friend Lennie and keeping him as safe as possible. Lennie being as low as he was having someone to look to for guidance and protection. Until an accident happens creating a world shattering change and a hard choice for a friend to make. I recommend this book to view life from a different perspective, to know what it means to give graces to our friends.
My lady Jane
My Lady Jane
Comical, laugh out load funny, mixed with a bit of history and a dash of magical. I loved the romance. This book was a battle of the monarchy to lead a country. A price out of his comfort zone a queen that would rather be reading the books and a horse that quotes poatry. I recommend this book for a laid back easy reading. Reading this book has lead me to start reading some of the classics and I am falling in love with books all over again.

The Forsaken Ones
The Forsaken Ones
By Lori Brighton
This is the second book on the series also the last book. There was a two year gap in the first book and the second book. Jane is our main gal in this book, she is human and she is in a love triangle. she is in love with another human Will who is for saving humanity against the beautiful ones ( vampires or other wise known as blood suckers). Then there is Thane not a blood sucker but no human. he is one of the in-betweens that is also in danger of the beautiful ones but he has fallen in love with Jane, protecting her at any cost. He sees her through on so many things. they are on a mission to find a miracle serum that diverts the blood suckers from wanting their blood. they are being hunted though the forest by the blood suckers and he humans that are working with them. trying to find the man named Raven. Raven turns out to be a man that is willing to trade human life for his own selfish safety, also twist and spoiler he is one of many Jane's brothers. Leading her into the walls of a human sanctuary of which her grandfather owns. come to find out any human not in this sanctuary is a human that committed a crime of some kind. Jane and her brother Raven try to over throw this sanctuary in hopes to find this serum coming up empty handed until a cousin of Jane's gives her a plant seeds that temporarily tamer the blood but only temporarily as Jane and Thane try to excape Thane is captured and Jane's heart is broken. alone in the world she has to make her way back to camp where she later finds Will alive and well still. they take their camp to a place where Jane and Thane spent time together in hopes that Thane will make it back to her.... will he? I will not tell. you have to read the book.
The Good Girl
The Good Girl by Mary Kubica
This book was recommended to me by a very close friend that loved the book. It is out side my normal reads but I enjoyed every part of this book. The main character is Mia Dennett she comes from a well respected family, with money to spare. when her boyfriend leaves her hanging she angary decides that she was to go home with the hansom guy at the bar Colin Thatcher. This decision changes her life from this point on. one wrong guy one bad decision leads her on a life changing course. what was intended to be a one night stand turns into a kidnapping gone bad. Mia was taken from her family leaving them in despair and angry. Mia's mother is doing everything she can to find her daughter but her father the Judge of the city is not all that worried. It was as though he knew she was dead or that he knew that there was no point in looking for his astray daughter. Colin decides on a whim not to deliver Mia to the abductors and instead finds feelings for the young school teacher. he whisks her a way to a wooded Minnesota cabin forced to live off of nothing for months. Mia starts to understand that Colin was saving her and that he is not her abductor. mean while the search for her with detective Gabe Hoffman and her mother start to turn into a romance. Her mother find comfort in the detective as her husband is cold and unimpressed by Mia's disappearance. leaving the detective very interested in why. what is the judge hiding and where is Mia. Who is Colin Thatcher? and most of all for months Mia had time to run ... but Why didn't she? I wont ruin the ending because this is a mystery page turner.

COMICS MAKING A COME BACK
Recently I read the first two comic of the book Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief comic. I absolutely loved it! I haven't read comics in quite some time, probably since I was a teenager and it was an Archie "Betty" comic fro fun. Now I am noticing that a lot of popular authors are doing this such as my all time favorite Lunar Chronicles. It is exciting to me because Doing this allows the reader another chance to get caught up in the characters once again, and the fantasy of that place. Giving an actual visual and then I went back and re read the books and found that my mind made the connection of what they looked like and it was all exciting again to read! Sooo yeeh for comics!!!

The book that made you so emotional
What makes a book good? This is on my mind a lot ! What draws a reader in to loving a book. I have come up with this the characters have to be lovable. Second I look back at the books I fell in love with and what made me fall for them. I remember one book specifically "Suzann's Diary for Nicholas" by James Patterson. I was in my early twentys back when borders was still around. My relationship status well it wasn't a great relationship at the time. But the book was about girl that fell in love with a man that lost his family in a car accident, except he didn't tell her about the car accident or that he had a one year old that died. he wasn't fully over his family, and she was heads over heels for him. He keeps Leeding her on and ditching her at times with no reasoning. I won't give away the books ending but, James Patterson is known for his mystery's and for a love story with a twist of mystery to it ... This was one of my favorite books. I remember sitting for hours reading this book at the end of it I was crying ... It was close to 10 pm and I cried so hard learning the end of the story. I guess I was trying to relate my own bad relationship to the charters in the book, hoping that maybe there was reasoning to my own relationship at the time. That book made me keep reading trying to find my perfect love. Until I did.

book worm??
I am a book worm! I love that I am too. I feel in love with reading a young age and never stopped. I was an only child, which left me pretty alone in quite times. It wasn't a bad childhood but it defiantly put a lot of time on my hands. I think that's why I loved picking up a book like Black Beauty when I was young and imaging my self in that time area and with those friends. As my birthday approaches I am nearing the rip old age of 31 and I am reflecting back on life and find myself still looking into books for a different version of life. What the world could look like if the world ended or what would happen if we ever came upon aliens or remembering those feelings in a love story. at 31 one I love books just a much if not more than I did as a child. I have read hundreds of books now and have viewed hundreds of different perspectives of how others see our world or how we could be. I read fiction but it all stems from somewhere does it not. This is why I find it incredibly important for my children to read or be read to. I want them to see different view points different plots that gives them ideas for themselves. I am a book worm my children will be book worms and that's great because we will be to view the world differently, and that is exciting!

when you get a book and hate it.
ok here is a doozy of a deal, when you hear about how great a book is and you can't wait to read it and it is a total absolute fail. what do you do??? stick it out read it to add to you number of read books on good reads? do you give up and move on? come back to it later? I have had this happening more and more since I read the "Lunar Chronicles," its like this ..... in my head every thing is still happening with cinder and winter and scarlet lets not forget cress. These characters were my best friends from 8:30pm to 11pm they were my escape from my beautiful loving children that scream at me how much they love me. I need their story to continue. I have tried to read "First & Then" but it was not my style all the way around I ended up reading about two chapters and walking away from it. then I tried to read "Mechanica" which is a retelling of a fairy tail (great right up my ally) no epic flop. Then "Mangolia" which I will say was interesting but kind of morbid. girl in the book is dying then dies and then ends up not dying but really living in a ship above the clouds while her super smart friend tried epically to find her against all crazy town remarks from his two moms. I have to say its one of the first books where I read about someone having two moms and was adopted (whoo hoo for culture change in books!!!!) but ultimately it was way too far stretched and to say that she was part bird was odd. I just couldn't get into it. Lucky me though my copy of the Glass Sword came in and I am ecstatic to read it!!! until then!!!

faviorte apps about books
Being that I am new to being a stay at home mom of two, I am always looking for a new way to save money. I started with cutting down on buying things I do not need. I have a love of books and books are not cheep. Books became my best friends in high school and into my young adult years. so giving up on my love for books was not an option, who knew that the library was linked with amazon on E-books!!! my problem solved I use an app called over drive. I love it the only down fall is that sometimes I have to wait a long period time to read books. recently I finished the Red Queen and it is a three part series that I have been waiting almost a month to read the second book. but hey its cheaper than buying to books to read once. over drive also allows you to down load the files to listen to the audio version. I love that for my long drives to my in laws with the kids. recently harry potter went to audio and my three year old loves listening to it in the car. I would highly recommend the app I have fallen in love with it!!! everyone keep reading and exploring life through books.

The Abolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian

where do I start with this book. first off it won a national book award. second I love that it takes place in my home state. third do I think that it was good??? I liked it to some extent I love coming of ages books don't get me wrong "Perks of being a Wall Flower" was awesome. this book had a lot of boner talk in it for me, yes its written in a first person point of view and the first person is an Indian teenager but my god if that was taken out of the book I think that I would have loved it. I think it is true in nature of how Indians are perceived in the 20th century. The Absolutley True Diary of a Part Time Indian, took place in Spokane and on a reservation that is poor and its one young boys journey out of there and to bigger better things. I loved the struggle between him and his best friend I felt a real connection with the book and how high school can be at times. I hated the fact that most of this book is o true with the amount of tragic death that happens to Indians. I felt like the whole time i was reading this that something magical was going to happen in the end. to some extent a friendship mended is magical but i wanted this kid to get out of Spokane and move on with the grades he received and the journey his life took him on you just keep wishing for more for him. This book has a lot of language in it that I feel only high school kids should probably read if it was for kids. I wouldn't want my 12 year old daughter read it.

The red queen
I loved this book. I read in a week and that is saying something as I have two kids and not much time for reading. So as one could imagine I am so so tired as I have not slept long. This book was entertaining a war between silver and red blood and a star cross lovers twist. Who is a girl to pick when you have brothers fighting for your attention and cherry on top they are both princes. One to be king one that wants to be king even more. I recommend this book 100% can not wait for the second book.Wednesday, March 2, 2016
Writing
Prior to writing my book I started taking a creative writing class to understand the basics. Then I needed help with organization and to take the creative thoughts and put them in to an orginized matter was actually easier than I once thought. Then I found that my short story was turning more into a book. The more I wrote the more it turned into something more with something I didn't expect. The interesting thing to me is where my brain took the book. I started with an idea and ended with something totally out of the realm of what I started with. And the best thing of all it was actually better than my original idea. I have been writing for over a year now starting over twice. I don't think I am great but I do think it's fun. When o finish I do plan on sending it out to publishers and magazines to see if anyone else thinks that it is interesting. It all started with a love of reading.

Mind readers
I just finished mind readers by Lori Brighton. I loved this because I was looking for a short good read. Page number is under 300. It kept me wondering what was going on there was lots of mystery to the book and it's a four book series. I was excited enough at the ending to purchase the second book in the series called mind thrives!!! I highly recommend it to all ages as it was appropriate for young adults no harsh language or sexual context. Little kisses here and there but very pg in my book.

Winter by Melissa Meyer
One of my all time fav book top three actually. The charters kept me spell bound to the book I love love love the ending to the book and all the magical, kisses that gave a happy ending. I know that it took me a long time to read all 800+ pages but let me say I started to savior the book at the end, I just didn't want it to end. Speaking of Stars Above comes out next month and again I am planing on going to the signing healed in Seattle. I have started a writing class as my inspiration has come from this local author. I am planning on submitting to a contest that is fantasy, and most likely getting a rejection letter back. It's for the fun it that I decided to do this and I am very excited. What is my short story about well if I told you it wouldn't be a surprise. But this does not mean that I am not reading because I am. My book club gal has read mind readers by Lori Brighton I was hooked by page two I suggest this book to others if your a kindle fan it is free on there right now for a limited time.

first book of the year
Illuminae
by amie kaufman and jay kristoff
This was not per my norm of books for me. This is a science fiction, about a computer that makes decisions for the human race. This starts of very high schoolish about a girl braking up with her boyfriend the end of the world happens as bombs start falling from the sky and they somehow end up together fighting for their lives. They make it to a base that help them escape earth but on separate ships. One was hurt the other was fine. as the story progresses you get a sense that something is not adding up that maybe someone or something is messing with the files. Katie is one of the main characters that is upset and broke up with Azera he is on the alexander and ha been promoted to a fighter in the ship. he will be flying and fighting off the Lincoln (which is the bad "guys" that attacked earth). spoiler alert Azera dies right here but you don't know it he actually died defending the ships against the enemy. however Aiden the computer uses Katie's feelings to intercept emails between her and Azera allowing Aiden to trap her into his plan to save the human race and to lead her to her death. I will not say how this part actually plays out but I have to say for being out of my normal reading list I enjoyed the book !! I would not recommend this to young kids or teenagers under the age of 15 as the language in the book is harsh.
