Confession #7

I must confess that I had to stop reading dark places...... Why you ask? Well let me first say that the writing was great easy to follow and very interesting. How ever I felt that it was odd to add a "kill group" to the mix but I think that I understand the meaning behind it. I don't find it easy to believe that a young girl who has gone threw what she has could allow her self alone to go to such kill group but hey I am just the reader not the author. Again off topic so yes I stopped reading the book reason it actually gave me nightmares of massacres .... She wrote that book so well that I dreamt about it! Pretty amazing but half way though the book I gave it up for much lighter readings. Until the scary books are not so scary !!!!

Confession #6

I must confess I read more at night to calm down and to fall asleep to. With a toddler and full time job you don't have a lot of time to sit and read as we are always going going going!! I love my life but sometimes I just wish that on a rainy day that I had time to cozy up in my big leather reading chair and get I fresh brewed cup of peppermint mocha with a good book and just read all day. Well that is just a pipe dream now so I read at night in bed :@). So I am reading dark places, this book is very dark and very grapic. It's about a girl that lives there a massacre at the age of seven but now at the age of 30 the money is running low and she never really got her self together. I am at the point that she has been a guest at the "kill club" and is making money by talking about her families deaths. So far it's a creepy book that is keeping my interest going. I feel like some how there is going to be a twist that maybe she killed her family. Just a prediction there. So I fall asleep last night after staying up late reading for about two hours ... And they say that you dream about the last things you think about before you fall asleep or maybe it's something to do with something you eat either way my dreams were mixed with murder and family and chaos.

Confession #5

Confession I have not posted in quite some time. Vacations are amazing but at times I feel like I come back more tired than I truly was when I started the vacation. Also I did not read on vacation :@( horrible! I was lost in the fantasy world of Disneyland and universal stodios.
Super excited about Harry Potter coming to LA!!! 2016 I can't wait to come one of my all time favorite book that made me fall in love with the reading world!

So I am still reading scarlet however I am not in love with it as I was cinder. I am also reading dark places. As the new movie Gone Girl has come out I am reading other novels by Gillian Fynn. Dark places so far is pretty dark. I feel like for a good author to write you have to somewhat live that world like Nicholas Sparks writing these wonderful love story's I feel he is truly a positive loving person which brings me to my point with dark places, how someone could write such dark things makes me think about she may have gone though. Great writing  with the suspense like gone girl. I am not a huge mystery reader. I love the young adult and love story's and an accasional Jodi Picoult book thrown into the mix.

Confession #4

Toddlers..... Four am ... Screaming ... Crying .... Yelling .... What is going on? Toddlers with night terrors. What do you do when your child is screaming a Bloody Mary scream like someone was hurtting him? What do you try to do when he is scared of you because of this dream. Has toddlers learn what is real and what is not it feels like it's one of the hardest things for me to cope with as a parent. I can handle the sick throw up the crying of the the egg the fussy was but an out of control 18 month old that dosnt understand what a dream is has to be the one thing I don't know how to fix or cope with. So I question you what are ways that other parents have coped with. I have tried not feeding so close to bed time I have tried watching cartoons at night before bed. When in the moment of the night terror I let him know who I am when I walk I to the room and I turn on the light. I have tried playing music and singing but the night terror quickly turns to a fit. It makes for a long night long morning and our whole schedule for sleep is thrown off. Any advice would help.

Confession #3

I may have been an only child but..... I was born in the 80's and let's be honest here their fashion then well ..... Let's just say it needed a little help! By a little I mean a lot. So now that I have my own child I try and make sure he is well put together. However I notice that the prices of clothes are sometimes outrages for clothes for and 18 month old. Gerrrrr so I have found shopping second had is ok. Did I just say that? Here's the thing for baby stuff he is going to grow out of it before he wears it twice why spend 25$ on a coat when you can spend 10$ and get the same thing from it. Or you can buy more for less this way. I just think that baby gap and some of the other stores out there that I shop at to deck my son out in preppy clothes the prices are not the same as they once were. Over priced to make some people feel their child is high class.... When really us mothers want to see you kiddos in picture perfect mode for all those selfies we take with them! Off to the shopping spree !

Confession #2

I confess that sometimes I don't have enough time in the day to read. I love reading because it take me somewhere away from where I currently and in that time and place. I find with a toddler that life becomes all about them, which is fine, but good god..... I am exhausted. My sleeping schedule revolves around my little guy and I am doing anything and everything to make him happy which leaves me with little to no time for myself. I work full time on top of that and take care of the things my other half needs. Giving myself the time to relax is so important. I feel worn out. So I am going to  take sometime this weekend to read get my nails done my hair done. I am going to just let me be first for this one day. Is it selfish maybe but one day can't hurt right?

I have started reading scarlet and I have to say that right now it is pretty slow going I have only gotten a few chapters into it. Scarlet is hard because she has introduced a new charater it's not the same feel yet as cinder but I am hanging in there and thinking it has potential and that with time I will fall in love with it.

Confession...#1

I confess that I am a sappy romantic. I have a love for young adult teen books! I loved twilight and the book series that I will forever love! Harry Potter was my teenage to young adult book series that I started reading out of high school that taught me how much fun reading could be. Twilight was the second series that I fell in love with, then came the hunger games. I fell for pita in the first book cried through the second and fast read the third because I just couldn't wait to find out how it all ended. The love stories alway took me away to another place and time.  Nichous Sparks is one of my absolute faviorte authors I have read every book the man has wrote! Seriously he has to have the happiest wife in the world, if you can write great love stories you must have the most romantic relationship. I think that I if I had to pick one faviorte book of his it would be "the best of me." I adored the relationship that over time love still existed for two people. That time healed a wound and people matured into adults that were able to see what love truly ment. That hope still happens for those in love. Even when life throws us a cramp we push threw it and find our place where we were all way ment to be.I am excited to see this book go to the big screen. I hope that the movie does the book justice.

Do The Puyallup

my family and I went to the local State Fair today with my son that is 18 months old. I learned earlier this month that over a million people will attend this Fair, as today was the sound day of the fair and my company gave us a discount to go. My son is learning new words every day this was a great experience for him to test out all the animal names like goat, chick, cat, dog and cow! For an 18 month old at the fair I worried about how his temper would go, he did a solid four hours. Better than I though he would. I was lucky to bring bottled water as it was 87 degrees out and we made snack pack for him so that we were to keep the cost of going down. I was sadden by the fact there is not a toddler area at the fair, I didn't expect rides but was hopping for an area to get out and run around for him, big toy of some kind. But he did some walking on his own and most people watched to make sure they did not run him over or get lost from me. His fav food was the fries lol or more the act of dipping them lol. After a fun family day we are defantly taking the next day off and resting up. I hope many of you will visit the fair here in Washington if your visiting!

finished cinder

I am in love with Cinder the book was amazing !!! little predictable but for the most part I felt like it was well written and kept my intrest high and it was a page turner, I couldn't put it down. I just about cried when Iko was disabled but I thought that the Cyborg leg falling off on the fifth stair like cinderella was a nice touch to make it feel like the fairytale. I am very excited to start reading Scarlet, book 2 in the Lunar chronicles. to learn what happens to cinder or should I say the princess? I was reading on line that the author signed the writes of Cinder over for making a movie, this would be one of the best movies put to film for young adult, it would knock twilight out of the way. Cinder is such a better story and more of a stronger female lead!!! I seriously hope that this goes through !!!on to scarlet !!!

**my next big read**

I am starting the series "lunar chronicles". I am super excited to be reading this because it is a very local author from right here in tacoma washington. Marissa Meyer is from my home town. I was hoping to read this with my book club girls but it keeps calling my name from the book shelf. So sorry bookclub I regretfully have to cheat on you. So far I am half way through the book and it is one of my new faviorte books right now. I find my self caught up in the cyborg geeky talk to the drama of the family step child, to the copelling love story that makes this a feutureistc fariy tale. I am feeling the hate between the earthlings and the Lunar queen. Seems pretty fishy that there was a cure the day after the deatfyih of the imperial highness passed away, cheep shot to price Kai.
also FYI there have been three books recently that use a strong male lead in them with the name Kai, funny how those books all have in comon that I loved them!
I am left right now half way though the book is Cinder going to go to that Ball will the queen haver elimanated? (no because there is two more books to come lol) I predict that she will go to the ball because who could not go with prince Kai, the queen will see her there and the ball will end in the begining of a war between earth and the Lunar, leading in to the secound book Scarlet. Also my faviorte charater in this book so far is Cinders sidekick Iko, I invision this robot to be female and super corky, she seems like a girly girl. okay next time I write will be after I finish this book .... maybe two days lol love it cant put it down and you should defantly give it a try!!! cyborg cinderalla minus the mice and singing!!

Outlander the book outlander the show

I really liked the book, it was very catchy something that had not been done before. I fell in love with a different time era. I sware I would have done great to live way back then. I was most defiantly born in the wrong era. However this TV show is dragging on and on. It is not the intense feeling I got from the book and the love story is lacking very much so. I have always loved reading a series and then watching the show and I know I know they have to stream line some of this but seriously it's taking forever to get to the point. Show us the love between Clair and Jamie ! And get to the witch trial and the choice she makes! It's too long of a set up! I get it you have to get the intrest of the people that haven't read the book but the show is starting to get boaring!!! And people will quit watching soon:@( the potential for this show is there and can happen! I am not giving up yet.

BOOKS TO MOVIES

So I can imagine a great book in my head. How things unfold in the book and the way that we interpret the writers story is much different than things that happen in the movies. I just finished reading the great book "The Giver". I enjoyed the story know that it was the first of its kind written in 1993, about a community that has their own rules and way of life. I read this post Hunger Games and Divergent. Still with these great novels that were some of my favorite books I still felt "The Giver had it's own take in the genre of dystopia books that have recently come out. I felt that the art of movie making took the words right from the book, staying true to the author and interpretation was very accurate. With some books in the past I could not say that it was true before, but I will spare you these books and movies. As some of the critics did not agree that the giver was a good movie that was a must see, I just don't agree. If you read the book in Jr.High or High School the love for the book should make you want to see the movie. The Giver is a good read and a good watch. can't go wrong.

The Start

I am a full time wife mom and worker.... which leaves zero time for me. Hey that doesn't mean I don't  enjoy it but my god lord help me too find the time to have my own fun in life. Thus the magical world of books. I spent most of my childhood going to the book store. I loved it. something about the smell of paper and letters on pages that I could actually hold in my hand, back then we flipped the page not swiped. for you young people book stores were places that you went to to choose your book, from many places, just like amazon but you actually got in the car and made a trip of it. awww the death of the book store, my child may never remember what a book store is. what it meant to search though the books and feel the weight of it in your hands. I am a book snob, I try to read only the good books. I will be blogging about what I am reading and what my book club is doing. I will talk about my son quite often but for the record this is going to be very opinionated and very juicy with some spoilers about the books I am reading so no complaining!!!     so welcome I hope that you enjoy your self and tell me what you think. I love to talk books!! but only the good ones duh!!
